F16 Jet Aircraft Windows 7 Theme with sound effect is dedicated to the General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon Jet Aircraft. This Windows 7 Theme has been created on the request of younus, Nur and Iadydocarmo who had requested for a jet aircraft theme. The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a multirole jet fighter aircraft which was developed originally by the U.S. defense conglomerate General Dynamics Corporation for the United States Air Force. The first flight was made on 2nd of February, 1974 and it was officially approved in 1976. There have been over 4450 F16 Jet Aircrafts built till date and it is one of the oldest jet aircrafts to be still in production. However, the US Air Force does not purchase any more F16 Figthing Falcon aircrafts but it is manufactured mainly for export to other countries. 25 other nations have purchased and use the F16 Fighting Falcon aircrafts in their air force. Although the F-16′s official name is “Fighting Falcon”, it is known to its pilots as the “Viper”, due to it resembling a viper snake. In 1993, General Dynamics sold its aircraft manufacturing business to the Lockheed Corporation, which in turn became part of Lockheed Martin after a 1995 merger with Martin Marietta. In addition to active duty US Air Force, Air Force Reserve Command, and Air National Guard units, the aircraft is also used by the USAF aerial demonstration team, the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, and as an adversary/aggressor aircraft by the United States Navy. This Windows 7 Theme contains 10 backgrounds of F16 Fighting Falcon and all of them are of 1920 x 1200 pixels like the rest of our Windows 7 Themes. We have also added the F16 takeoff sound as the Windows logon sound and Windows change theme sounds in this theme.
